Good bye Google Reader, We Will Miss You!
Today is a sad day.
At midnight, Google Reader will be saying so long to all of us who use this awesome tool to feed read.
I wished this exact same format of feed reader was available elsewhere but.....it's not!
But there is something very close! And it's known as Feedly!
I have chosen Feedly as my new feed reader. If you use Firefox, there is an extension for it.
It's a bit different but with a little look around I was able to adjust to the formats quite easily.
There are a few different layouts and the side panel pops in and out.
I found a few glitches already but in time I think they will work them out. They are minor.
I didn't care for the search.
I am so accustom to the Google Reader format.
The adjustment to Feedly will take a bit, but with daily use, I will soon feel right at home :)
Happy Canada Day to Our Canadian Friends!
and
Happy Independence Day to Our American Friends!
May this long weekend find us all Having Lots of Summer Fun!

From the creators of COLOUR
lovers.com, Creative Market is a new kind of marketplace for
handcrafted, mouse made design content. We have a simple, but important mission: to make
beautiful design simple & accessible to everyone.
This mission is something we've been passionately living. We started with COLOUR lovers by building the world's best color community & creative inspiration site. By curating a supportive community for ideas to be shared and inspiration to be found, we've jump-started a massive amount of creative projects.
We then started building design tools that were simple & intuitive, but powerful & professional. These tools provide expert capabilities to novice creatives, and help them develop their skills.
Creative Market is the next piece of our mission that will help creatives easily access a wealth of beautiful design content for their projects. Whether it's finding a unique vector pattern for a textile, the perfect font with personality for a new logo, or any other kind of digital creative content that helps you produce something amazing.
Our friends at Etsy.com empowered the handmade goods revolution. We believe we can do the same for mouse made goods. Grab your creative tools and join us!
Sign up to be an early access member and we’ll hook you up with some free credits to check things out and see how much easier we’re going to make your workflow/design process.

Time to Relax
Howdy Folks;
How have you all been? Are you all prepped for the big day? This year went by so fast. Isn't that always the way when you are busier then a bee in summertime. Whew, it's time to relax. I so need to do that LOL. When Mum said she wanted to have the dinner at her house this year I was overjoyed. Thou I love company, and we'll have plenty of that over the break, I really wasn't looking forward to cooking for everyone on the big day. To be honest I am burnt out and need 3 days of good uninterrupted sleep which I will be doing starting Monday.
We did get to put the tree up and I have a few photos of some of my favorites to show you. First let me say that the only thing I actually help with is the beads, the boys do all the rest. I have to say they have great imaginations too because the way they put it all together has stories behind every placement.
This one is the musical tale of the wise man and the big fish he caught. (the Wise man, the violin and the fisherman)
In this one the Angel watches over the babies while they sleep.
This is Joe's new ornament for 2010. He's an avid Campbell Soup Ornament Collector.
Joe got this Santa ornament when he was a kid from his Mum. Behind it is his Lou Gehrig ornament he got from my Mum on our first Xmas in our new home. Above it my Norman Rockwell ornament I got in 1994. I've taken this photo off the angle of the story. Sorry boys LOL

And this one is my Christmas card for 2010. This ornament is from a set I got from my Mum. They were always on our tree when I was a kid and she knew I loved them so she gave them to me.
You may have noticed that we don't put up a real tree. Ours is a fake one. And a heck of a lot easier to put away without a mess.
We had a real tree once but the mess, the watering, Joe sneezing all the time, it was to much so we just bought a nice size fake one our second Xmas and it's been faithful to us ever since. And no stickies :)
Over the last few weeks, while Tyler has been getting changed either to play or finish playing hockey Ive been hiding in the eatery with my laptop making Christmas goodies for you. I must say that the mothers of the team kept at me, being inquisitive, showing them what I was doing, how I did that, you know, being nice but really pestering me because I wanted to get it done while I had the free time LOL It took me longer and by no means did I come near to finishing what I wanted to put into it which seems to be the way these days. But I will get it out to you all before the weekend is over. That's a promise.
It's been a very long day for me so I am going to catch a few z's and get started on your gift after breakfast. Drop in later tonight, k.
Enjoy your day &
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL

Oh The Sales
Howdy Cyber folks;
Happy Belated Thanksgiving, Cousins!
And look at all those SALES!
Best get on them a.s.a.p. cause they will be gone on Tuesday.
Yesterday was quite the treat for me. 7 am my aunt arrived and we went digi shopping till noon and ended up spending around 60 bucks. 45 kits in total. Now the fun begins in downloading them all. One store totally crashed and we couldn't get the downloads. I think that is the worst part of all the Black Friday sales. 10 of the kits will have to be downloaded during the week. We got all the rest thou so look out for some quick pages from me during December.
I am so jealous. Yesterday we got about a half hour of snow flakes that didn't even leave a mark. I want snow, snow, snow. My gfs in Utah, New Mexico, and several more states in the USA, got plenty to brag about. The New Mexico snow fall brought tears to my eyes. Here I live in the Great White North and they got snow before we did. Talk about a climate change. I was telling Joe we should move further north cause they got snow already but I don't think he's willing to do that for snow. LOL
Today I am relaxing, I so need it. Until 3 pm at least. Tyler has a game at 4 pm. My sister and brother will be coming around tomorrow to do our Christmas draw and then we will be heading out to 5 malls to pick names from the trees.
We'll be doing Christmas a bit different this year. We might not put up a tree at all. We usually put ours up on the 1st weekend in December but we won't be here. Tyler has a hockey tournament and we will be in St. Catherin's all weekend. The next weekend we have a wedding to go to out in Alberta and the following weekend we are going to New Brunswick. And Joe is trying to talk me into traveling somewhere exotic for the remainder of the month, which he has off. Add to this that I am involved in helping to set up the Christmas concert, the Christmas play, and 4 Christmas parties and you can understand why I so need some one to split me in three. LOL
So how will I be relaxing this morning? I going to make some quick pages, of course. Maybe I'll have one or two for you tonight.
Oh, yes, I am still boycotting 4 shared. They totally suck big time.
Have a snow-rific day.

Can some one split me in three, please
Howdy Folks,
Yes I have been MIA for quite a bit here on the blog. Time just doesn't slow down long enough for me to finish what I start LOL.
In the am, I am able to sit for an hour, if I am lucky, before I have to get going, this leaves me just enough time to pop in and visit some online buds, maybe a forum, and poof, the time is gone. In the afternoon I am lucky to get in an another hour and poof, it's gone again. But the time I finish my day I am beat. But today I took a short nap, 47 minutes, woo who, in the afternoon just so I could post this evening, still I am pooped and will be heading off to dream land as soon as I am done, yawning away as I type.
I know I have missed so much here in scrap land but I have been trying my best to at least stay in touch with some of you most of the time. Let's just say Google's Reader is probably over the top, I am terrified to open it and see all those posts.
I haven't had any time to scrap or make anything, there just isn't any free time to spare.
Kristine, I live in Oakville, Ontario, not to far from Kitchener, LOL ( i hope its the wench who left the message) will I come and visit? maybe at the end of spring if Tyler doesn't play ball this year.
Can you split me in three cause i wanna go up to see Pam up in Barrie too.
Oh when was it, early October I think, we went up to the orchard and spent the day picking apples, spent the next two days making 40 pies, what a nightmare, my hands ached for weeks peeling those apples. No I don't have a magic peeler to do it for me, but I am thinking about it, trust me.
This weekend Joe is off, man the guy works way too much, and this leaves me lugging the boys around everywhere. don't even talk to me about snow, I don't wanna see any. I've seen enough. Can some one buy me a ticket to the Bahamas, I so need some sunshine and a beach with some gorgeous blue tropical waters. Nah, forget it, I would probably sleep the time away and miss the beauty anyway.
Last Friday he got a new Honda Cr V and he won't let me drive it. He also got promoted, the snob, he's now a boss. Really, I am so proud of him.
Tyler has a garbage bin full of Hallowe'en crap, yeah it's crap to me. I am an icing girl and that's about as far as I go in the sugar department. That should last him till next year. He dressed up as, of all things, a hockey jock LOL Oh, he's a hockey jock alright, every game scoring goals, even teaching some of the new kids some of his fancy tricks. He cracks me up.
Don't even talk to me about pictures, I have so many I don't know where to begin. I can't promise I'll post any cause who knows when I will be able to post again. Please, split me in three so I can have some me time, pretty please, I'll pay you.
Well I have to go before I crack my chin off the table, I can't stop yawning. 6 am is just way to early for me.
Gotta go

We're Back
Well Hello Everyone;
Has it been ages or what LOL
What a busy 1st week back to school. PTA meetings, Library Meetings, Social Meetings, well you get the picture. But today is Saturday and I can finally sit down and catch up. I opened reader first thing when I finally got online and man, over 5000 posts to read, NOT. Sorry girls and guys but I just hit the Read All button. I couldn't possible handle it. I opened my email and wow, there are over 200 emails in there.
I know I missed a lot in digiland but I had a fantastic summer. How about you?
I really missed you peeps personally and I thought about you quite often. I talked about you all quiet often too. Some of the girls and I went to a few country sales. These are like Garage sales but when in the country we go from farm to farm not house to house LOL.
More times then I can count I would spy something and think of one or many of you. So even though I wasn't online with you you sure were spending your summer with me.
This morning was the first time I turned on the computer too and I had several updates to do first. After that I went to look in my folder to see where I left off and there was sitting a layout I was suppose to get up before I left. I must have blanked it out or thought I did it but either way there it sat. Poor Loucee must think I forgot all about her and her challenge. Well I did didn't I. And I forgot to let Kim know I posted that little gift using the August CC. So I've done that now too. The Cars were right. Summer turns me upside down. It's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :)
Here is the layout I did for Loucee's Animal Challenge over at DSO...

Give me a few days to catch up on all the past and recent news and I'll get started on some new challenges and free gifts for all. Now where is my mojo bag...umm :)

Edit: Now there goes my brains again leaving me behind. Today is Sept 11 isn't it. Let us pray for the lives lost in 2001. I don't think any of us will forget that day as long as we live.

I am off
Morning Folks.
I am glad to see there were no issues (well one which I hope has been resolved).
It's just before 6 am here and I am off to the great wide open, Northern Country, that is, in an hour or so. Just waiting on Joe. So I thought I would come on in a babble for a bit.
I'll be back, hopefully by the end of August, but if things should change it will be the 4th of Sept at the latest. Tyler starts back at school on the 7th and I usually have a shindig bbq over the Labor Day Weekend, the last long weekend before everyone is back into high gear till Thanksgiving.
We are having some cool Autumn weather here as I speak. I actually had to wear a hoodie outside last night. The AC hasn't been on since the following night when the winds of change blew in and slammed my bedroom door waking me with a start.
Oh and here's a funny...the other day, when I did the template challenge over at the DSO, I did it on a song that I woke up with and it kept lingering on in my mind...well yesterday I was having some lunch and this commercial comes on the tv and it's got that song playing in it...and I'm like, so that's where I got it from...the darn tv playing while I'm sleeping...and here I am thinking it had some deep meaning LOL. I don't eat hot dogs, that's what the commercial is for.
Any how, I am going to bid you all a fond farewell for now.
Have a wonderful day and month.

MS Crop for a Cure
Howdy, Folks!
Yesterday I got an email from one of the shops I crop and shop at so I will be staying in town for the weekend and heading out Monday.
If anyone is interested in Cropping for a cause then come on over and join us.
24 Hour crop for MS Society begins Friday July 9 6pm and ends Saturday July 10 6pm. Cost $100.
You can get all the info here http://www.scrapalicious.ca/
Then I have a birthday party to go to right after it's finished. Then I'll need to sleep all day Sunday, LOL. Fun, fun, and more fun.
Life, gotta love it.
Now if we could have some rain to cool down this blistering heatwave we're having I would be as happy as a clam in salt water.
Enjoy your day.

March Break
Hello, Peeps!
It's just a bit past 10:30 pm and my Auntie just left after staying at our house for the week while her kitchen was being renovated. How I have missed MY computer these last few days. Every time she is here she totally hogs it and goes around buying stuff. Thank goodness she has no internet at home or she would be broke. Seriously. I have received 22 emails so far and I am waiting for 3 more. That is a lot of downloading and burning to disc, yah know! So next week, while Tyler is off for March break, I get to spent time doing that while my Auntie is off to the Bahamas to see her daughter for 2 weeks. Thank goodness Tyler has plans for the first part of the week. I would feel so bad burning disc while he vegged around waiting for me to do things with him during the day.
Joe is on days next week too so that gives us all the evenings to be together and go to hockey finals, and hopefully, I am crossing my fingers, we will go see 2 movies, Alice in Wonderland in I MAX 3D and Where the Wild Things Are (I remember reading that book as a kid). And of course we have to go to Playdium cause for 30 bucks the kids can have a lot of fun. I personally find it boring cause I am not into it. All I do is sit around most of the time. I was never an arcade or pool hall kinda girl. I play a few games but to me I would rather waste money on skiing (no snow, lots of rain thou) or a movie(see above) or (going to Micheal's and buying useful craft stuff LOL) then pluging it into some machine. It's not cheap either, some of these machines can start at 3 bucks a pop, for 1 game. Well at least the kids can have fun, kids can have fun just about anywhere, it's when they grow up into adults the fun changes LOL.
So again I am way behind on blog reading and getting any projects done for you all. My 365 pages are sorely lagging behind too; got all the photos thou LOL. Of course I do my art journal book every night before I go to bed, I would have to be so far out of it to miss doing that, like comatose or my hand isn't working, but it too is seriously lacking my creativity.
Hopefully this week I will visit some places that will peek some inspirations and creativity. Lets hope it doesn't rain all week either cause I sure could use some by the beach time to bring everything back into proper perspective.
Gees, time sure flies when your talking to yourself LOL, its nearing 11:30 pm. I best mosey on to bed. Time waits for no one.
Enjoy your day and March Break.

Happy Valentine's Day
Good Evening, Everyone.
How was your Valentine's Day? I hope the love was abundant throughout your day. We had a grand time strolling along the beach at sunset, dining, dancing, came home and watched Fast and Furious on ROD, now Joe is fast asleep. Me, I am just too excited. See I got a surprise from Joe and Tyler for Valentines. Totally unexpected. I am over the top. I draw, a lot LOL and they thought it would be really cool if the got me the package you see below. It's an HP Tablet PC. I can draw on it. I am thrilled I got it but as I think of the endless possibilities I wonder if I will stop doing my art books on paper? Will I toss my art brushes, oils, inks, watercolors, charcoals, chalks, pastels, easel, etc? What about my present 6x9 Wacom tablet? It's still in mint condition. Will it eventually collect dusk? LOL It's a bit bewildering. I've put a few programs on it already. I had PSP 11 laying around so I installed it and drew you all a very simple quick image. Nothing spectacular cause I am just learning to use the pen as a brush. It's going to be fun.

It's just after 11 pm now and I am yawning here so I best get my self to bed. Tomorrow is Family Day and I haven't a clue what the boys have planned but they tell me I will have a great time. How could I not. These two think out the wildest things to put me through and I always have a great time too.
Have a super Family Day.

Paper Withdraw - Memory Scraps Blog Train
Yup. I am a plain paper junkie and I have run out of plain paper. You see I have to draw or write and I need my plain paper. Let me tell you I am going crazy. If your computer has ever crashed and you've gone through computer withdraw you can totally relate to what I am going through. One never knows they are a plain paper junkie until the paper is finished.
Tyler brought me in a pack of lined paper from his school stash and I am suffering with it. I don't care for lined paper but it's paper, right. So I should just be happy with it. But it's not the same. totally not the same. I don't need lines in my work, I don't want lines in my work.
You see I make art books with my plain papers like we make scrapbooks with our photos. I have been making my art books since I was 9 years old. I have the first song I ever wrote, the first picture I ever drew, the first poem I ever wrote, the first hand drawn card I ever made. And to go a day without a plain piece of paper is like breaking a toe or thumb and realizing just how important that digit is to the rest of the body.
Can you tell I am going wacky. Heck, I am here telling you about it, like therapy, I must get it out. But believe me the only cure is plain paper. I so need it. I tried doing other things, honest, but I found myself needing paper, to write stuff down. I went for a walk to Helen's before the hockey game started hoping she would have paper since my corner store was out of paper, and I had a thought and couldn't write it down. Helen had no paper either but she wasn't going through any symptoms of withdraw. I phoned my cousin, not home. I am usually ahead of the game on stuff like that. I always stock up and usually have a full box while I am using the last pack. I thought I told Joe last week I needed paper, I think I even wrote it on the shopping list, but he says he doesn't remember paper being on the list. The list is garbage so I can't prove I wrote it down. Like it matters that I prove it. Yes I am going insane. Insane I tell you. Insane.
So I thought I must put my mind to something else so I went on line and read two whole blogs and poof, I needed paper. Now I must retain all the stuff I want to put on paper in my brain till Joe gets me the paper tomorrow. That is a lot to retain I hope I can do it, I have never had plain paper withdraw before and I hope I never will again. In fact I am going to mark that as a priority; 2 boxes of plain paper will now be stashed in our house at all times. And when 1 box is finished I'll get another. Never again will I be out of plain paper, Never. Never. Never.
Okay, so now you know.
And here some other exciting news.....
Memory Scraps has opened their store and they are having a blog train celebration.
Check out the blog for the train, pop into the store for their grand opening sale and say hello in the forum and see who the new designers are.
You can get to all the places mentioned above by starting here http://www.mscraps.com/
The boys have been wrapped up in the Hockey Day in Canada event since noon and they don't even notice me LOL So I am going to go and have a long hot bath and listen to some music. And perhaps, just maybe, Joe will go up to the 24 hour grocery store once the events are all over and buy me some plain paper.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Scrap Designers - Oh Yeah
Hello Scrap-pers;
First; imchrists, did you finally get to download the sets? Please try again. File sharing sites are topsy turvy depending on the time of day. Mind you I still can't download some files I have been trying to get for the last couple of days from 4shared. Keep me updated if you don't get the sets, please. thanks.
Anon; I noticed there were 2 servers down at 4 shared. Anyone who uploaded and had their files loaded onto those servers can kiss them good bye. If you check out the 4shared forum you'll notice a lot of people complaining in there LOL
And here's a funny...I use Firefox and I block 95% of the crap that tries to get threw, so I go to get a download from the 4shared China server and it stops in the middle of the count down so I have to enable the entire page in NO SCRIPT just to get it to continue and then poof, it refuses to give it to me. Totally useless and a waste of time. Thank goodness I clear my browser cache too because no matter how many times I removed the China cookies they just kept coming back, on their own, without even being on site. Eventually I went off line and cleared it and poof they were history.
If you can work on your computer off line without any issues then your computer is fine.
Okay folks the reason I dropped in today was because it's Thursday and I have the rest of the day to play, until 8 pm that is, that's when Tyler comes home from hockey practice.
So I am off to read some blogs, lord knows how many reader has in there for me, and hopefully say hello to some of you in the comments. Plus I need to reorganize the reader as I want some of the people I subscribe to visible here on the blog and to do that I have to manual add them to blogger. So I will say adieu for now and keep a look out for the added blog links on the left.
Enjoy your day.

The Music in Me
When I was younger and off at camp in the summer, my favorite event of the night was singing around the campfire; next to eating those smore's that is LOL
I had several favorite songs I loved to sing back then but over the years some of them just slipped from my mind while other bore a lasting impression and you will find me singing them quite often, to myself mostly, when I am alone. Well I think I am alone...most of the time. I've been caught by the boys on a few occasions sneaking up on me. When Lady is around, and this at first surprised me, she will actually come and sit near me, listen with this sweet look on her face and eventually go to sleep. I'll be the first to admit I don't have the voice of an artist but I have whale d out a good one at times. Just ask the dog ROTFL
This is one of my favorite songs from those days.
Today
Today
While the blossoms still cling to the vine
I'll taste your strawberries
I'll drink your sweet wine
A million tomorrow may all pass away
Then I'll forget
All the joys that were mine
Today
I'll be a dandy
And you'll be a rover
You'll know who I am
By the songs that I sing
I'll feast at your table
I'll drink in your glory
Who cares what tomorrow may bring
Enjoy your day

Welcome 2010 - 365 - No Sweat!
Howdy, Folks!
We hope you all had a safe, warm and happy New Year's Eve. Previous posts tell what we did LOL. We have found it much more relaxing and enjoyable to stay home for the big welcome then to travel here, there and around. I read that's the norm for most of us :) Besides we were all fast asleep when the ball dropped. LOL
January 6th, the last day of Christmas, Epiphany. Time to take down the tree, decorations and wreaths and store them for another year.
Although the holiday is over and school SHOULD have been back in on Monday, Tyler has been off due to SNOW. I doubt they will be back this week at all. All the more hockey to play and watch for Tyler and his buds.
I was wondering if the snow would ever come. It's been so brown around here. What is winter without snow. So many places around us had snow but we were getting none. Monday is started coming down, then stopped. I was disappointed. But an hour later it started again, then stopped, then started, and it's been on and off like that ever since. :) There is a a good 3 inches so far. It been quite a pleasant hit to our neck of the woods too. It hasn't snowed up a storm and drop a heavy load all at once. It's just coming in a half an inch at a time. That's our neck of the woods. LOL
Have you all started your 365 Projects? I finally finished our 2009 album. I haven't printed it out yet. I will be doing that in February as gifts for Valentine's Day.
I was reading some blogs tonight which told of the dread of doing such things and the disappointment of not completing a 365 project.
Here's an idea to save your sanity....take a look at the project in a different light.
Reduce the compulsion to take a picture every day because you feel like you have to. So you miss some days, it's no sweat, really. A 365 project doesn't have to be a picture a day. It can just be just a yearly album of the pictures you took for that year. You do take a ton of photos every year, right. Well there you go. 1 year = 365 days.
You don't have to scrap them all either. Printing the pictures and storing them in a 'hybrid photo cache' is just as fun and you can drop in note cards, dried flowers, tickets, anything you might want to keep.
The Hybrid Photo Cache is not something you can go to the store and ask for by that name but you can get them. It's just what I call my expandable folder cases. It's organization in a case. I use them for lots of things like bills, insurance papers, tax papers, receipts for purchases, etc. I even have a case for Tyler where I keep his medical records, birth cerificate, report cards, his baby teeth, hair, and other stuff. You can get them at Wall Mart, Ikea, any Stationary or Office supply store. Some scrappers even decorated them up or buy them with cool designs already on them. My Aunt uses recipe card cases for her 5x7 photos, notes and keepsakes.
Overall just take a new approach to your yearly album and enjoy it without the stress.
Look at the time. I best get to bed. I hope there is enough snow on the ground in the morning to build a snow person. Tyler and his buds promised me today that they would build some for me when there was more snow to build them with. So Let it Snow!!!
Thanks for stopping in.
Enjoy your day.

Happy New Year, Everyone!
Jan 1 2010
We hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve.
You may have been partying out or partying in, or you just may have partied like we.....hehehe
I fell asleep in the study around 9 pm and Joe came in and tried to wake me at 12:02 by yelling HNY. I wished it back to him but crashed back down for another 12 minutes LOL. I really had to force my self out as even now my brains are stew LOL But I got out of bed and said HNY to Joe again & Lady. Joe had already called his mother so when I went into the living room he was talking to his brother and I said HNY via Joe to him. Then I woke up Tyler and I wished him a HNY then he went back to sleep for about 15 mins before he wondered out and wished his Dad and Lady a HNY then wondered into the living room and fell asleep on the sofa. I checked my phone and called back those that I missed, Ang, Mary, Lydia & Cindy; HYN Girls! Chris, Sean & Mike; HNY Guys! Then we took Lady out for a walk and met up with several people, new and old, and wished them all a HNY. While walking we got calls from Kevin, Sara, Zhiona, Val, Beth, Ray, John & PJ; HNY Girls & Guys. We got back at 2:30 am, Tyler still asleep on the sofa.
It's now 3am on this glorious 1st day of 2010 .....WHooooooo Weeeeeee!
