SC Critters - Freebie

We are all packed up and ready to go, folks. As promised I have one more freebie for you.

I hope you all know of Debbie aka The Scrapping Cop. A while back Debbie shared some great doodle type designs of critters and birds. I needed an elephant and a bird for a couple of layouts I was doing at the time and dug into her folder on my drive and began to play around. These are the results.

The preview looks horrible. Did Blogger compressed my image? I appear to be losing bytes when I upload things, first the zips and now images. Gees. Thank goodness for vacations :)

I will check in before I leave so if you have any issues get them to be asap. I don't know if the nearest town has an internet cafe or similar so I don't know if I will be able to check while I am on vacation.

Hope it all goes well.

Enjoy your days till we chat again, all.

Fabric Deco Flowers - Freebie

I was going through my stash this afternoon while the storm was raging outside and came across these Art Nouveau flowers I made in April which I forgot to share with you. These 3 are on a 12x12 canvas. The preview shows the up close fabrics I was experimenting with back in April, LOL

Don't forget to read the Terms of Use included in the zip file, especially if you create your own kits or quick pages. There is some good news in there for you :)

Michael 'King of Pop' Jackson Dies at 50

Yes, Nicole, it's true!

Today, Michael Jackson died of a cardiac arrest due to the medications he was taken, just like Heath Ledger. Wow, 50 years old. So long, Michael.
It's 10 p.m and they have an entire show going on right now about him.
The number of viewers will be phenomenal.
DH, loves the Thriller music video. My first memory of Michael right now is the song, Ben.
Thank you Diana Ross for discovering the Jackson 5! Go Diana.
Thank you Quincy Jones for making Micheal's star shine.
Rest in Peace, Michael.

13 Overlay Designs - Freebie

I noticed overlays are becoming more available in the scrap world lately so I dug into my stash and pulled out 13 of them for you. I thought it best to get them to you now as I will be leaving for our vacation on Friday and won't be back for 2 weeks or so. I'll post when I get back.

It's nearly 5 and my headache is slowly subsiding, ever so slowly, and I need a tea. So I won't keep you long.
I hope you can find some use for these overlays. If you do use them I would love to see the results. Just post a comment, which are moderated, leave me your web site url in the comment and I will post a link to your results, if, of course, you post it online. LOL
Yes, you can use them in any free kit you give away too. Send me your links. Please keep in mind I will be on vacation so please wait till I come back for me to post your links.

I noticed I forgot to post the dimensions of these overlays in the preview. Sorry about that. They are all 12x12 : 3600x3600, in PNG format.

Here is a preview of the 13 overlays.

The Lovely Award

It's late, 3:30 am.

I have an extreme headache that woke me at 2 am. It was so hot today and not a good hot either, and it's only the end of June. I could hardly breath, the air was so dead and hot. I am dreading July and August. If you are one of those who do not believe in global warm, at this point, I would have to say you are a nut. I feel sorry for those who have to work or even go in to any one of the cities. I seen 3 city centers from my friends balcony yesterday and they all had this gray haze over them. Sickly.
So after I woke up I thought what they hey, check out what the scrap world is doing. So off I went to check out a few buds and found I received an award.

It's my first award and from my Canadian bud in Alberta, Mandy, from Mandy Made Digi Bits, too.

Here are the rules for this award:

1. Put the award on your blog.
2. Include a link to the person who gave you the award.
3. Nominate 7 or more blogs.
4. Leave a message on their blog letting them know they have an award on your blog.

I won't have a hard time giving this award away. There are so many terrific scrap artists. My trouble will be picking just 7 of them. But without further ado the nominations are.

Each of these people are totally phenomenal.

1. Nicole from Digi Designs, Stuff to Scrap. The entire group at Stuff to Scrap are also phenomenal. I could nominate them all.

2. Kim B, Digital Scrap Obsession. The entire group at Digital Scrap Obsession are also phenomenal. I could nominate them all too.

3. Lily from Lil's Little Luxury.

4. Linda from Bon Scrapatit Designs.

5. Rebecca from Rebecca's Scrapping Silliness.

6. Jaelop from Jaelop Designs.

7. Ashely from My Dreams Full Filled.

8. Carolle at Happy Scrap. Can't figure out how to comment on her blog :(

9. Amy Sumrall, Lil Bits n Berries.

And these are just a few of the fantastic people of scrap land.

I have a special post coming up next so I will get on to that.

Thank you Mandy for this wonderful award.

Free Course with Jessica Sprague - Limited Time Offer

I had a bit of time this afternoon after picking up my mail, to gad about in scrap land and decided to drop into Jessica's place first and ended up getting side tracked. LOL
Jessica is offering a Free Course in July (6th) that I signed up for. You can sign up too but you have to hurry because time is limited; sign up before this Friday, June 26th.

I haven't been scrapping anything, just hanging out in the great outdoors doing stuff and getting a tan. I have lots of photos but no gumption to sit inside and scrap. What can I say but....

Summer! It turns me upside down! Summer summer summer! It's like a merry-go-round.
Magic: The Cars

I hope you are all enjoying your Summer in the North and Winter in the South.
I am off to tuck in Tyler.
Enjoy your day and don't forget to sign up at Jessica's.

It's Almost Summer

My goodness, I just finished reading approx. 30 days worth of postings from nearly 200 blogs. I missed soooo much in scrap land during that time its phenomenal. There were a few freebies I wish I wouldn't have missed out on but that 's how it is when freebies are only available for one week and I go on vacation for a month LOL. What's that saying, "You snooze, you lose."

Well it's raining here, again, today. It rained a good one yesterday too, washing out Tyler's baseball game yet again. Poor kids, they didn't get to play much this semester. Tyler has already said he doesn't want to be on the team next year. He wants a sport he can actually participate in on a regular bases, like basketball. It's indoors so not much chance of getting rained out. LOL
School is finished on Friday and Tyler will be heading up to the cottage for the summer. Ah, to be a kid, oh the fun. Joe and I will be heading up there for a few weeks for his vacation soon too. Yup, another holiday for me, too.
I just came back from a holiday, of sorts. When my family comes here from Europe everything I am doing in my life stops on the dime. They load me up in their rental vehicle and lug me around visiting family members that don't live near us. Like my cousin in Thunder Bay, that was a hoot, and my aunts sister in Vermont. I always have a blast with them which is why I don't mind dropping everything when they come.

I am still transferring pictures over from the camera. I did 4 4 gig sticks already. It's taking me a bit of time because I burn them to disk right away. I don't trust computers enough to let stuff like this lay on the HD for long. There is always that 1 in a million chance that something could go wrong. I have only had one HD crash on me and I literally broke down and cried. I had so much of my work on it. I am sure many can relate to that. I burn my stuff to disk as soon as I can.

I will be missing a lot here in scrap land simply because it is almost summer and when summer gets here I will be enjoying it. Mind you there are always the rainy days and the night times when I can try to get these family photos scrapped but I wouldn't put any money on me doing a lot of that. My family has already been warned not to expect the unexpected LOL

I must get on with my day, thou. I have several things to do today that must be done.

Until we meet again....
Enjoy your day(s)

And a month later...

Hello, Everyone!
Yes, I have been quiet MIA. When was my last post, May 13th.
We got in yesterday morning and it wasn't till later in the day that I was finally able to get online to the scrapping world. 5 hours wasted on multiple software updates and a 3 hours and 35 mins and 31 secs virus scans.
I checked out a a couple of sites after the hockey game (YEAH! PITTSBURGH !!) but I was just too tired to do any further catching up or write you all here. Today got busy too, look at the time, just after 11. I am bushed. It will take me a few more days to adjust and get back into the swing of things. I'll fill you all in more later. I have way too many pictures to scrap n share.

Ah, the pillow is calling.

Enjoy your day.

Suzi & Anon

Just popping in for a spell to address a couple of issues.

1. Anonymous the passwords for any zip file offered here is always in red. If you are coloured blind this may be a problem. The password for CeeCee is party.

I thought about the blindness issues the other day and decided that all future passwords would be in bold letters. (never two words and never in capitals)

2. Suzi I got your email. Check yours in the am tomorrow. I'll send them out later tonight after I put Tyler to bed.

Download issues can happen to any one, including myself.
Recently my gf sent me to a file to download which I did and the file showed it was 48+mb. I scanned it with my virus protection software and then proceeded to unzip it and poof win zip claimed it was a bad file. I told my gf and she resent it and viola it unzipped.
Just this morning I also got another file and the download was intermittent (having breaks in the download). Thou the end file was good it left me wondering what was going on. I noticed a great fluctuation in download speeds too. Once I changed browsers I had no issues. I usually use Firefox but IE was my hero this morning LOL.

I also had problems with Blogger this morning. The site was suppose to go down at 2am and it usually lasts for about an hour thou they claim 10 minutes. This morning I went to publish the comments and it claimed the site was down. I checked with Marie at DigiFree and she too was having issues, with Google.
The outage is now posted for tonight at 2 am. I'll be in dreamland by then LOL

Firefox and Google. Perhaps the two are just too tightly fitted together. LOL

I am off to be with my men for a while.

Thanks for reading this post I hope it helped.

Enjoy your day.

Afternoon, All!

I hope all you Mother's out there had a fab weekend! It sure was heaven here LOL
I got a hibiscus from the boys called sunny wind, two cards and brunch in bed. We visited our Mother's in which both had parties going on. We had a blast for Mother's Day.

I was able to get another quick page done. This is one page from a set I did for my cousins daughter, CeeCee, short for Cecilia. She is such a sweetie. This is her having fun at her 2nd birthday party. Her third is coming up shortly.

Here is the preview of the quick page.

With Love Quick Page - Freebie

Good Evening, Everyone!

It's overtime between Pit and Wash with a tie of 3-3 and I wanted to get this to you before midnight as I was able to finish another quick page for you all today.
My mother loves swans so when we happened upon two nesting mothers this morning I took several photos. This is one of them.

In the background the father is rushing to get to his mate to protect her in case we may want to cause her harm. Lady does that to the waterfowl even if she is far enough away LOL

The beautiful flowers I used in this quick page are from Lynette's Photo Art.
The lace I used for the framing is from Gunhild Storeide.
These two terrific ladies offer free resources.

And here is your preview...

I am off to put Tyler to bed and hopefully work on finishing off another quick page for you before I head off to dream land.

Have a fantastic Mother's Day all. Talk to you all again on Monday.

Happy Mother's Day Qucik Page - Freebie

Happy Mother's Day, Ladies!

Are you ready to relax and enjoy the servitude. It's always that way here on Mother's Day. I do not have to do a blessed thing. No cooking, no cleaning, no laundry, no mowing the lawn, no sweeping the front porch, no watering the lawn, no shopping, no dishes, nada, nil, zip LOL I hope you will have the same, cause you deserve it! I love being a Mom!
I also get to visit my Mother, bless her soul, I love you Mom! See you Sunday!
And we will be visiting, Joe's Mother, too.

I spoke with my Mother today and asked her if I could use one of her pics for a quick page for you all. "No close ups", was her request, "I like my privacy. And pic one from when I was young" Okay, Mother. I hope this pic is cool with you.

My Mother use to be a camp councilor at Camp Bolton. This is a pic of my Mother, the tallest lady, her assistant, and two of her charges (children she took care of), out in front of their cabin.

Here is a preview of the quick page.

I have been slowly working on a couple more quick pages. When I get them done I'll post. The boys are going off somewhere today, this will leave me some free time to play. But I won't be in on Sunday so I will...

Wish You All

A Mother's Moment Quick Pages - Freebie

Good Morning, Everyone!

I had the opportunity to download a fantastic mega kit yesterday created by some of the folks from Stuff to Scrap. It's called A Mother's Moment and it's filled with all kinds of goodies.
Do you know this place? It's a fairly brand new place created by Nicole Parker of Digi Designs by Nicole. It has a store, a blog and a forum where you can have tons of fun. If you're into Speed Scraps then you just have to drop in to the Stuff to Scrap forum and have a blast. It's fun and it's easy and you may even get a surprise :)

After I downloaded A Mother's Moment I knew I had to make some quick pages with it. I only made two so far but the possibilities are literally endless and I will probably create more when I can.
I contacted Nicole and asked her for permission to allow me the opportunity to share these quick pages with you all and she was very pleased and agreed to allow it. If you haven't picked up this mega kit yet I suggest you do. You will not be disappointed. You can start by going to this post on Nicole's blog where you will find the list of all the participants.

Here is one of the pages I created with Joe and Lady taking in the scene at the lake.

And here is the preview of both. Both are available in the one download.

Click on the image to download.

Please remember that I password protect all my zip files. You will find the password in the conversation above. Please write it down or swipe it and save it as you will need it to unzip the files.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and don't forget to drop into the Stuff to Scrap Forum and have a blast of fun and meet some terrific people.

NSBD - Fantastic Weekend

Good Morning, Everyone!

Did you have a fantastic NSBD? I sure did. I had so much fun. I spent about 100 bucks, tried my hand at a few challenges and met some really cool people. I didn't get to blog hop much because...
I spent the rest of my free time outside. It was a gorgeous weekend. The temperature was ideal.

This morning I did some blog hopping and found out I missed out on some terrific blog trains while a few others are just beginning.

Have you checked them out yet.

There is
Country Hollow Creations - Spring Fever
Faith Sisters- It's for the Birds
ADSD - Sunshine Beach
Ginger Scraps - Modern Mommy
Stuff to Scrap - A Mother's Moments
And I am sure there are more of them out there.

I also read some good news and some bad news

First the bad news...

Pamela from Digi Treats will be retiring. I was so sad when I read this. Still sad by it. I will miss her greatly. I hope she returns. Unfortunately no one can contact her and I just bet thousands would be trying. She will be greatly missed by many :(

And the good news....

Mandy from Mandy Made Digi Bits has joined a store and will be selling her kits. Ye haw! Fantastic. You go girl! Best wishes to you on your new endeavor :)

And LouCee has also decided to join a store and start selling her kits. Ye haw, again! LouCee is also a hybrid scrapper and very well known for her creative talents. You go girl, too :)
On a sad note thou, LouCee's Lenny passed away. Lenny is one of her poodles. It broke my heart. I know how much she adores her pups. And I had been following Lenny's sad story.
Very sorry for your lost, gf :(

I only hopped into a few blogs and forums this morning but I am sure there is tons more going on in Scrap Land. I'll try to catch up more later. Right now I am going to give my eyes a break, venture out into this beautiful day and enjoy it for a while.

Enjoy your day.

Lake Path Quick Page and Alpha - Freebie

Happy (Inter) National Scrapbooking Weekend, Everyone!!

It's going to be a fantastic weekend. I hope you are all excited and join in on the fun, because there is fun to be had on every scrapbooking site. Forums are going to be rocking the servers.

I had attempted, twice this morning, to upload 2 files to Media Fire and they both failed to verify, twice. I was so disappointed that I couldn't get this to you all. I finally gave up after waiting a 1/2 hour with no verification in site. But they are up now and verified so let me get this to you.

As many of those who live in Ontario know it's been raining the last couple of days. I was kind of thankful for the rain because it meant I didn't have to do one of the things I was suppose to do. This left me with some time on my hands. Extra time means FUN.
I sat down at the computer, opened my trusty graphics program and began making a quick page and then I thought, lets take this to another level. So I separated all the parts of the quick page and put it all into a mini kit, with an alpha, so you could make pages too. Of course I got carried away and made several papers too LOL By the time I was done I had made 335 mb of stuff. WOW. How was I going to get all that to you. So I had to go back and think it over.

Here is what I came up with....

Watch This spot!!!

As I add the files I will underline the downloads below.

May 1, Today you will be able to download the quick page and alpha.

May 2, Tomorrow I will give you the elements and the paper that made up the quick page so you can make your own.

May 3, I will give you some papers and the second set of elements.

May 4th, I will give you papers and more papers.

There is no password to these files.

Here are the views :)

My Layout.

The Quick Page.

The Mini Kit

I am going to try to upload the other files asap.

Don't forget to drop in every day for the updated links if you want the Lake Path Mini Kit.

Thanks for reading my post today.

Enjoy your downloads and your weekend.

Happy National ScrapBooking Day - May 3rd 2009

Howdy, All!

Sorry to be away for a bit. I have a lot of stuff to do in the next few week and have been so busy as of Monday that I haven't been able to sit down at the computer till this morning, which will last long enough to post :)

I have a break this weekend and hopefully I will get something done. I am way behind on my 365 pages and have yet to begin on Mother's projects. LOL but life is good :)

Before I forget....

THANK YOU Creative Scrappers from Around the Globe for all that you do in sharing your gifts with others. Without you there would be no National ScrapBooking Day.

Hopefully I will be around on May 3rd, National ScrapBooking Day . I would like to get some fun in during this international celebration and hopefully have some gifts for you all. It's usually a 4 day event, Friday May 1st - Monday May 4th 2009
I haven't checked in anywhere but I recall last year there was tons of play, free gifts every where, coupons galore, it was fantastic.

Oh, gotta go.

Day Tripper Quick Page - Freebies

Edit: Password has been corrected. It was listed as park when in fact it is parks. Thank you, Vaybs, for alerting me to this error.

This last one is of Lady and it's called Day Tripper because her and Joe trip to a different park everyday. They have friends everywhere :)
I used a meadow type theme I created and I wanted the meadow scene to stand out so its rather page filling.

This is Lady at two of the parks she goes to.

I had 4 images to work with, 3 in one direction and one in another, so I made two separate layouts with a bit of difference in each.

Mother Quick Pages - Freebies

1 more after this... :)

For some reason I just couldn't get this layout going and ended up doing 3 pages, still without satisfaction. I can't recall where I was going with the first one but it started with a picture of my Mother-In-Law. We usually give roses to our Mothers on her special day so I thought a change of flowers would be nice for a layout.

All the pages were made using the collab kit "Country Life" created by A Work in Progress and Sweet Blossom Designs. Again I didn't do the kit justice :)

The download is rather large I bundled all 3 pages into one zip file. approx. 60mb

Click on either image to download.

Please remember that I password protect all my files. You will find the password in the above conversation. Please remember to write it down or swipe it and save it as you will need it to unzip the files.

SpringTime Quick Page - Freebie

Hello again, 2 down 2 to go... :)

For some reason I wanted to make this one on a rather large scale. Perhaps it was because I wanted the geese images to be more visible on the page, I can't remember. But here they are, two quick pages.

These pages were made using the kit called Easter Blessings by Nicole from NBK Designs. I truly didn't do the kit justice here. Thank you Nicole :) Go to her site and check it out.

Rainy Days Quick Page - Freebie

It is rather late, 1:30 in the morning, so I am just going to post these all rather hurriedly, without much conversation in each, sorry to be so abrupt. :)

I have been working on a few layouts and finally got some done.

This first one is from the 19th of April in which we took a stroll along the beach. It was quiet the foggy stroll. I kept the layout rather simple as fog gives the 'lack of' feeling since it's hard to see more then a few yards.

The two elements, the fish and anchor, are from the kind ladies at PST Designs in which they have a blog called the Water Lo Project which has lots of elements to use in your layouts.

Please remember that I password protect all my zip files. You will find the password in the conversation above. Please remember to either write it down or swipe it and save for you will need it to unzip the files.

I'll be back in just a bit with some more quick pages for you.

Devin Quick Page - Freebie

Good evening, Everyone!
How was your day? Good I hope.

It's been an on and off day here weather wise with rain and sunshine. I found it pretty funny weather because whenever I went outside it was nice and sunny and a few minutes later it would start to rain. I would go inside and the sun would shine, outside and it would rain. This went on all day LOL.

Tyler is in bed now and I still a few things to do before I head off to dreamland. First I want to share the quick page I mentioned earlier before I do the rest.

This quick page is part of the pages I made for Devin. The photo is of Devin finishing off his new computer, putting the cover on. Devin wanted to know as much as possible so Joe stood aside and with coaching let Devin do everything. When Devin finished and started it up Joe said Devin was ecstatic like he had conqueror the tallest mountain LOL :)
The layout is very simple. I was playing around with see threw styles and made the frame. The wrench and the magnifying glass I made a while ago for another layout which also had a hammer in it.

In the download I have included 3 quick pages. One as shown above with the tools and a heavy shadow behind the frame. The second one has a lighter frame shadow without the tools and the 3rd has no shadow and no tools. The zip size is almost 35mb.

In the preview below I have only shown the 1st and 3rd quick pages.

Please remember that I password protect all my zip files. You will find he password in the conversations above. Please remember to write it down or swipe it and save it as you will need it to unzip the files.

I still have a few things to do so I best get them done. Thank you for dropping by and reading my post for today.

In the Green Quick Page - Freebies

I woke up at 2:30 am and I haven't a clue what woke me or why I couldn't go back to sleep. I tried. If I can't fall back to sleep in 15 minutes I get up do some relaxing exercises and try again. But it didn't work LOL. Everyone else is sound a sleep and the entire neighborhood is so quiet. With nothing really to do I decided to finish off a couple of layouts.

This is our pup Lady and she just loves to scratch her back, whether it be on a nice bush or as seen here, on a good patch of weedy grass. She looks so funny when she does it too that I just had to snap a couple of shot of her.

Because I took a couple of shots of Lady, one in vertical and one in horizontal, I made two layouts. So today, if you like them and decide to download them, you will get both directional views in the zip file which is approximately 17mb. The font I used for Lady is called Big Apple.

Please remember that I password protect all my zip files. You will find the password in the conversation above. Please write it down or swipe it and save it because you will need it to unzip the files.

I apologize for the delay in giving you your second gift today but Blogger and Picasa appeared to be having issues and I could not load the images. So I patiently waited for an hour or so and thought I would try again after I started dinner.

It's been pretty crazy here with the cable internet company today and I fear it may all go down again. Our entire block has been out and we had neither pretty much all day. Not that I need either but Joe sleeps with the t.v. on so I had to put the radio on for him instead. Thank goodness that was still working. I really don't need the internet to work on the computer, just the power company LOL. I hope it doesn't go out again tonight as I like to nodoff with the t.v. on one of the music stations. I like it way better then the radio as it doesn't have commercials and the t.v. display goes off and leaves the room in the dark.

Well I best get to telling you about your second gift before the internet disappears. :)

This layout was made with another one of Rebecca's Scrapping Silliness kits called Day Dreams.
The tag is from another one of Rebecca's kits called Dudes and the train is from another one her kits called Little Guy. I just had to use these extra two items as they fit in so well with the picture I wanted to scrap.
Joe is an explorer of sorts. He takes Lady to a new place every day and finds some amazing scenery. This train he discovered a few days ago. I haven't a clue where it is located so I can't share that with you as I forgot to ask LOL But he wanted me to scrap it so I did.

Rebecca has so graciously given me permission to create quick pages for you all with her kits so please drop by her blog, downloads some of her free kits to make some more quick pages, and leave her some love.
So without further ado here is your second gift for today.

Now I must get going as I have dinner cooking and there is nothing like burnt food, Yuck! LOL

Enjoy your download and your day.

The Beach Quick Page - Freebie

Good day, Everyone! I hope your day is as sunny as ours has been. It's been absolutely beautiful today. I have only dropped in for a bit as I want to finish out in the yard but I have a couple of gifts for you.

I have been working on a few quick pages in my spare time the last couple of days and finally finished up a second one this morning.

This layout was done using The Beach Kit by Rebecca's Scrapping Silliness. Drop by her blog, pick up this kit for free and leave her some love.
The image is of Devin and Lady at the beach a few weeks ago when Joe went to fix his computer. We will be visiting him this weekend and he wanted me to print out the pictures Joe took. We don't live by an ocean so I didn't add any starfish to this layout. Since I added the happy sun I had some fun with shadow effects.

Rebecca has kindly allowed me to share any quick pages I make with her kits so this quick page is just one of the gifts I have for you today.

Click on the image to download.

Please remember that I password protect all my zip files. The password can be found somewhere in the conversation above. Please remember to either write it down or swipe it and save it as you will not be able to unzip the file without it.

I will offer you all the second gift in another post.

Enjoy your download and your day.

And it's all totally FREE.

Here is what Rebecca posted recently...
On Sat April 11th she posted the kit Day Dreams done in soft aquas and blues.
On the 13th she posted Backyard Critters done with bold and colorful designs.
On the 14th she posted Promise in beautiful mauve hues.
Each of these kits come with beautiful papers, an assortment of elements and 4 quick pages too boot.
And on the 14th she redid her blogs layout design too.
She is amazing.
One can make a ton of layouts with her design kits.

Kindred Hue - Freebie

Mom brought lots of family pictures so I will be so busy creating so many scrapbooking pages for the next few months. Add to that Joe's Mom's pictures when they arrive and I may be done by Christmas. LOL I would like to create as many pages as possible with stuff that I can create but whew I only have so much time in a day so you can bet that I will be digging into many scrap folders of those who have been so graciously kind in sharing and pulling out what works with the photo I will be working on.

I have to keep in mind which scrapbook folks won't let me share the scrapbooking pages I create with their stuff now too so I won't use their stuff.
I was reading a blog this evening and that was mentioned. It was the first time I heard of it. Kind of goes against the grain, really. Why bother to offer a freebie then.
Mind you I always ask for permission before I share what I create anyway, even if it's already in the T.O.U.'s. Some folks just like to know what's going on with their stuff and I personally like to tell them. And I always leave my name and I use Google. How is the person suppose to contact me if I don't tell them who I am or even where they can find me LOL.

Any way, it's getting late and I am bushed. So without further ado, here is you free layout for today, Kindred Hue.

Click on the image to download.

Please remember, all my zip files are password protected. You can find the password in the above conversation. Please don't forget to write it down or swipe it and save it.

Thank you for dropping in and taking the time to read my post.

Enjoy your download and your day.

Kindred Hue - Layout

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and the kids collected all their goodies. The day here was wonderful and our get together was very pleasant. Tyler got a few toys and just a few chocolates and other candies. We are not to big on the 'junk food' stuff in our home.

Mom brought some old photos she wants me to make some scrap pages with and Joe's Mom seems pretty interested in doing so too. I thought I would be totally off the computer today but once Joe's Mom heard about the scrapbooking pages I make they both pulled me into the den after dinner so I could show her what it was all about. Joe's Mom had never heard of digital scrapbooking before and she was amazed. I went from start to near finished to show her what can be done. I think she is hooked LOL. This is the page we began creating today. Unfortunately they all had to leave before it was completely done as I did everything from scratch but they did see the results below except for the title.
Then of course I had to go about creating it in the way to share it with all of you tonight, creating the zip, etc. and finally it's all done. Tomorrow I will print it and give Mom her copy.

Unfortunately the men were left pretty much to themselves, in the garage, talking about Joe's motorcycle, cars, you know men's stuff, while Tyler and the boys played hockey in front of the house, so there is a great lack of pictures for today.

Oh yes, the layout. The picture is of my oldest brother Bertie at 17, my older brother Eddie at 8, and that's me in the high chair. We are having breakfast. My younger sister wasn't born yet but she was already thought of because Mom says I am 3 in this photo. I did have an older sister but she pasted away at 3 yrs old.

Well I am going to make another post and give you all this layout for a download, if you would like it.

It's In The Stars - Layout

Happy Easter, Everyone!

I know it's really early, or late in the day (depending on where in the world you are), but we have not felt tired enough to go to sleep just yet. We had a super fantastic day at my brothers. We got home around 8 pm, walked Lady till 9 pm, Tyler went to bed at 10 pm and we put out his Easter treats at 11 pm. Then Joe and I got to talking and then he wanted to play a game so I thought it a good idea to go about creating a quick page. It's now 2 am and we are just starting to feel a bit sleepy but not sleepy enough. What better time to show you what I created.

I was wondering if any of you have met Ashley. Ashley has the blog Dreams Fulfilled. Ashley is another one of those wonderful people which I have had the chance to greet in the scrap booking world. Ashley offers a wonderful selection of scrap book items in which you can create your own layouts with. It was in my search for boy scrap items that I met Ashley. Tonight I wanted to make a layout with this image and so I looked into Ashley's files and worked with several items from her assortment that I had gathered to create the following layout. What do you think?

This is Tyler and his Godfather Ken at Christmas this year.

Except for the sparkly stars, everything in this layout was made by Ashley. The sparkly stars I made by using Ashley's star and applying the plug-in filter Alien Skin Xenofex Constellation. It is great for making sparkly stars on any design. And what is a Christmas layout without sparkly stars LOL.
If you get the chance, head on over to Ashley's blog and say hello. You won't be disappointed. You will always find useful scrap book items there.

Well I best be heading off to bed. Tyler will be up before I know it searching for all his goodies
and there is nothing like a tired cook on Easter Day LOL.

Happy Easter!
Enjoy your day.

p.s. I almost forgot...do you like my new header? I made that tonight too. Except for the grass and tractor the rest is all made by me. mwah

Happy Easter

I am popping in for a spell to wish you all a very Happy Easter!
I hope you all have a festive time with family and or friends.

This morning we went to church and spent some of the day at Joe's Aunt's place. This evening we are spending time with Herbie, the Love Bug, as Turner Classic Movie station has a triple bill on and Tyler just loves the bug. We just finished watching The Love Bug and Herbie Rides Again is starting in a few minutes with Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo following thereafter.
I don't think Tyler will make it through the second movie as he is yawning already LOL but we are recording them for him.
Tomorrow we will be visiting my brother in London and on Sunday both our parents will be over for the day. My sister and her family are in Maine visiting her DH's side of the family, my other brother is too far to visit; he is in British Columbia but he will call. Joe's brother and his family are going to his wife's parents house for Sunday dinner. A quiet weekend overall.

After we got back today I was able to log in to a few of the scrap sites with the Friends Connect using my Open ID, which may be best as this widget for Followers Friends, Google can't decide which is which LOL. I also added a few of the things back that I had before and finally put up the DigiFree and Technorati's logos.

Well the movie has started so I best get going.

HAPPY EASTER!

Enjoy your weekend.

Unzipping Issues

Blogger is strange LOL. I attempted to explain about Win Zip this morning when the entire post got all messed up. How did I know inserting images was such a difficult task LOL Thank goodness I learn from mistakes. :)
I wish this posting window was bigger. I will have to go check into that a bit later but for now...

I received another message from Anne this morning in re to still having issues with the download. So I went about finding a solution but could find little if nothing at all. In light of this I thought it best to explain a few things which may help, I hope so :)

I am still running Windows XP SP3 and my system is fully up to date. I use a licensed version of Win Zip 9 which I purchased years ago. I also have the newest version of 7 Zip which I use for unzipping rar files. Both will work with any of my zip files.

After I have created the files I will add to the zip file, I create a new folder, name it, and move the files into it. I then right click that folder and from the menu select 'Add to Zip file' Win Zip then opens and the Add window appears. I then go about inputting the settings you see below.

Because I have checked the Encrypt option the following windows appears after I click the Add button whereupon I input the password and check 128 bit before clicking the ok button.

Win Zip then goes about zipping up the file and creating the zip file itself.
When it's done I close Win Zip. And that is about it.

I then proceed to Media Fire and upload it. To date I have had no transfer problems or errors and have tested each zip file directly by downloading them from the blog itself, just like all visitors do. I have a specific folder for all my downloads so I do not get things confused.

Unzipping the file is just a matter of clicking on the file, right clicking, selecting Extract to C etc which is it's own folder located in the folder from which I am presently unzipping it from. A window pops up asking me for the password and I type it in (or you can swipe it and paste it in). If the password is correct is will unzip as I have requested it to do. And that is about it.

Issues which may prevent unzipping may be 1. an system that is not up to date 2. a system that does not have an up to date unzipping program 3. a system where one does not have admin rights to do any unzipping 4. an error in the downloading of the zip file. 5. an error in how one goes about unzipping the file itself. 6. a system that runs on 64 bits instead of 32 bits in which one may have to switch over to the 32 bits, thou the chance for this are slim.
7. the language in which one types in the password may cause an issue but I am not sure of this so don't quote me on it :)

I can think of no other issues at this time. Anyone got any ideas I have missed? Please post them so we can help Anne. I hope I have given you something that will work in all that babble, Anne, so you can unzip your files.

That's it from me for now. I have 1 more box to go through and then I will be done with that.
I will check in after Tyler goes to bed.
Until then...

Enjoy your day.

Sweet Baby Boy Layout - Freebie

Good Evening, All. I hope you all had an enjoyable day. It was pretty windy here today but otherwise an enjoyable sunny day.

I spent some time today finishing up a layout I started a few weeks ago. I figure I should show you something that I actually created myself, so to speak. LOL This is our son Tyler at 2 months old.The flowers are a brush made by Green-Eyed Butterfly and the unicorn is from a font called Celtic Astrologer. The bracket frame was also made from a font. The frame around Tyler is one I cut out from an old photo my parents have. The background paper is from a scanned piece of paper I did a while back and used as an overlay. The rest is just my creativity at work.

I thought I would share this layout with you tonight. If you like it please feel free to download it. It's free :)

I also have a bonus for you which I will post on it's own.

Please keep in mind that all my zips are password protected. You can find the password for this file in the conversation above. Please remember to either write it down or swipe it and save it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I hope you enjoy your new layout. If you have any problems please let me know. I have tested the download and the password and all are correct on my end.

Talk to you again soon.

Freebie - Rebecca Layout

I am a bit sad :(
I appear to be having an issue with Google's Friend Connect and I can't figure it out nor is there any help on the subject.
When I go to the sites I follow my little image is no longer in the Follow list. If I click Follow a pop up comes up and says 'The site owner has blocked me'. When I go into my dashboard to manage the blogs I follow and click the settings I get an error telling me to try again later. This has been happening all day so later is long gone hours ago. I won't believe that every site I follow has blocked me.
I am hoping it's a widget error because I haven't changed any settings that I am aware of. Still I am sad :(
If anyone out there knows a solution to this please let me know so I can fix it or something.

But let this not spoil your day because I want to at least keep your spirits up by offering you all the layout you seen in the previous posting. Rebecca has so graciously given me permission to share this layout with you. Thank you, Rebecca! mwah
Don't forget to drop by her site.

But before I do that I just have to tell you that my Joe is such a sweetie. Since it's the weekend and he knows that this is what we call a 'child free' weekend in which we can basically relax, he did me the honors of making dinner. He is an excellent cook but time was running short and his tummy was growling. So I suggested pulling out one of those quick dinners we have in the freezer. They only take 20 minutes on the stove and when its done you get a tasty beefstew meal that is just as good as homemade. It's perfect for two. To top it off, he bought some Heineken on his way home to enjoy a few while watching the hockey game. I was a bit shocked as Joe isn't much of a drinker and I rarely drink if ever myself, but he says to me "Come on, hon, just have one. You deserve it" LOL So here I sit with a beer I will never finish giving you my final posting for today.

Click on the image to download.

Well that's it for me this evening. I am going to go a watch some hockey and nestle with my Joe.
Please don't forget that I password protect all my zip files. You will find the password somewhere up above so don't forget to swipe it or write it down.

Enjoy your evening and your day.

Freebie - Julia Layout Two

I want to thank all of you who have downloaded my very first Julia layout. You are all very kind. I am quiet thrilled with the response as it is my first gift to a community of people who have showed me so much kindness in sharing and communicating. There is a great bond in this community and I am honored to be a part of such a wonderful group of people. mwah

In honor of Mandy's kindness, your kindness and all the kindness in which I am so grateful to have received, I wish to offer you another free download of not only the layout in my previous post, of which the photo was taken on our trip to P.E.I. in july1997 with the lobster in it, but also one without it. And as a bonus the lobster, as a separate png file, for you to use in your other layouts.

Please keep in mind, I am not a professional. I am what one may call a newbie to all this graphic creativity. If you find my work could improve in any area please do not hesitate to leave me a comment or a note in the Shout Box. I believe it is always good to learn something new every day and I am more then willing to listen to any input that could better this new skill of which I am learning.

This is what I am offering you in this freebie.

Click on the image to download.

Please remember that all my files are password protected so don't forget to look for the password with in the text above and then either swipe it or write it down.

Tyler has gone off to his grannies, DH has gone off to work, the dog has been walked, so it's time for me to take a nice relaxing bath & listen to some nice relaxing music before heading off to bed.
Morning comes fairly early in our house.

Thank you for dropping in and reading my post.
Enjoy you download and your weekend.

My Second Layout with the Julia Kit

It has been raining all day and I finished all my housework in an hour and I was left with nothing to do but play. And play I did, with Mandy's Julia kit again.
I just love this kit. It's one of my favorites. I do have a few other favorites and I will eventually share some layouts I will be creating with them. But for now let me show you what I did today.

This is my sweetheart, Joe. The image I used is of him on the ferry as we head into Prince Edward Island during our East Coast Vacation. Now a days one can just drive on over.
In this layout I added a lobster I made. East Coasters love lobster and crab and use the two as symbols for a variety of tourist attractions.

I actually did two of these layouts; one with the lobster and one without.

Well I'll let you all go as Tyler just came in from his friends and I have to do a few things for him before he heads out to his grannies for the weekend and Joe will be up soon too. I'll have the entire weekend to play at creating some more layout and with Joe LOL.

Enjoy your day & your weekend.

Freebie - Julia Layout

Tyler is presently outside and guess what he is doing LOL Playing hockey! One would think that since the hockey season is over for him he would take up baseball or something other then hockey LOL But nope, hockey it is. Either way he has given me some time to do some web surfing and sharing.

I have only had the opportunity to download a few of the Spring Things mega kit offering and I haven't even touched upon the Spring Blossom mega kit offerings yet. I am totally behind on internet happenings and the visiting of my regular haunts. What can I say, life does not slow down and there are only so many hours in a day LOL

However, sharing is the reason for this post and Mandy from Mandy Made Digi-Bits has kindly given me permission to share the Julia layout I made with you all. She is so cool! Thank you Sweetie! mwah

Sharing is a wonderful thing but like so many designers have discovered, there are thieves lurking about. And designers abhor thieves. So in light of the truth of this matter I have opted to use Media Fire as my file host and to password protect my zip files.
What this means is that a thief can take my files but they will not be able to get the stuff inside without the password, unless of course they can hack the password with its 128 bit encryption. And if they want it bad enough they will hack away and I will gladly applaud them for only then will the contents be well deserving to them LOL
Anyhow, all passwords for my zip files will be found within the text of my posts. Therefore you have to read, or at least observe, where the password may be. Write it down or swipe it and save it to a notepad file.

Now I had intended to get this file up for aprilone but as I said, life got in the way and I did not have the time. But without further ado, I freely offer you my first layout, Julia 001.

Click on the preview to download

Now I hope I got all that done right. And I hope you found the password and saved it.
Now I will say so long for now and be on my way getting caught up with internet stuffs.

Enjoy your download and your day.

Pat

ADSD Spring Things Blog Train

I woke up at 4 am and the first thing that popped into my mind was, Oh my goodness I forgot to tell everyone about the blog train. So here I am, eyes half open, giving you this fantastic news.

In January I came across a terrific scrapbook artists site by the name of Mags Graphics. After reading several of Mag's posts I discovered she belongs to a group of designers called the ADSD Group, a.k.a the Aspiring Digi-Scrap Designers. Every month this group puts their heads together and comes up with a theme and from that theme they collectively create a mega kit. This mega kit is totally free too.

Well this group is at it again this month with a collab kit called 'Spring Things' and for the entire month of April, 50 of these wonderful designers will be offering out this mega collaboration kit they put together.
It all starts today, April 1st 2009, and it's all for free. How cool is that!

So hop on board this months ADSD's 'Spring Things' Blog Train and start downloading this beautiful mega kit.
It all begins here at Mags Graphics
then you can choo-choo your way from there on over to the other designers blogs.

Don't forget to read their posts carefully because some of them will be offering out more downloads over the course of the month.
And please don't forget to leave them all a big thank you and some love.

Enjoy the ride.

My First Layout

For the past few days, as time has allowed, I began working on creating a few layouts with Mandy's Julia kit. After putting Tyler to bed tonight I finally finished one. This one is of Bella, my niece's dog. She is a Pomeranian Teacup and only 6 months old. She is so cute.

What do you think of my first layout? All suggestions are welcome.

I made a quick page of it. Do you think it's worth a download? If so, leave me a comment in my shout box and I will ask Mandy for permission.

It's almost time for me to hit the hay, (so to speak) so I will say, Good Night, Sleep Well.

Pat

What Fun!

Tyler went to play at his friends house after school so I have the opportunity to make a quick post before before starting dinner.

I have spent the better part of the day learning about Blogger and Google and the things I can do with them. I am having so much fun learning these really cool things. I even got a CBox. Now that was a hoot trying to figure out how to add it LOL but I finally figured it out; I needed to add the widget for html java script and with a few adjustments in the edit box, tada, it's done.

You can see I added my favorite blog spots in the Blog List too which also appear in my Google Reader. Now how cool is that. Now I don't have to blog hop to get the latest scoops on my favs.
I have only touched upon a few of the many things Blogger and Google have to offer and I am like a kid in a candy store LOL

I even got a comment today from Mandy from Mandy Made Digi Bits. I visit her nearly every day during the week. She is so cool! You should go and check out her site.

Hello, Mandy! Thank you for being my first commenter. mwah
I hope you have added me to your Follow List :)

Well there goes the timer. Yup, I set it so I would not forget to get cracking on dinner. Tyler will be home soon and there is nothing like a hunger boy.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post today.
Enjoy your day.
